The HZ5B-20/4.BBB is a seven-position (0-1-2-3-4-5-6) four-section rotary positioning combination switch with a rated current of 20A. Designed specifically for multi-position adjustment applications such as welding machines, its core feature is the combination of a four-section contact layer structure and seven clearly defined mechanical positions, enabling complex multi-channel synchronous switching logic. It comes standard with connecting copper tabs with inserts, greatly simplifying the process of connecting multiple wires to the same terminal in welding machines and significantly improving wiring efficiency. The housing is made of flame-retardant and high-temperature resistant material, and the internal components are thickened copper conductors and silver alloy contacts, ensuring long-term operational stability and durability.
1. Main Technical Parameters
Rated Operating Current: 20A
Rated Operating Voltage: AC 380V, 50Hz/60Hz
Conventional Free Air Heating Current (Ith): 20A
Contact Configuration and Position Logic (according to the wiring diagram, "X" indicates ON):
Contact Structure: Four sections (four layers), 16 wires in total (16).
Positions “1” to “6”: Each position connects a specific combination of contacts according to the built-in cam program. (Refer to the accompanying wiring diagram for details):
Mechanical and Electrical Life:
Mechanical Life: ≥ 100,000 cycles (operating frequency ≤ 120 cycles/hour)
Electrical Life: ≥ 30,000 cycles (operating frequency ≤ 120 cycles/hour) under AC-23A (resistive load) and AC-3 (motor load) usage categories
Wiring, Structure, and Installation (Based on images):
Convenient Wiring Design: Standard configuration includes copper contact plates with inserts, supporting pre-connection of multiple wires, making it an ideal solution for wiring welding machines and other equipment.
Wiring Specifications: M4 terminal screws, recommended wire cross-sectional area 1.0 – 1.5 mm², recommended tightening torque 1.2 N·m.
2. Application Scenarios
This switch, with its seven-position fine adjustment capability and convenient wiring design, is mainly used in industrial equipment requiring multi-level, repeatable parameter settings.
Core Applications: Welding Machine Control
Multi-level Current/Mode Adjustment: Serves as the core adjustment switch for manual arc welding machines, TIG welding machines, and small resistance welding machines. Six operating positions (1-6) precisely correspond to different welding current outputs or welding characteristics (such as thrust and arc voltage), covering welding processes from light to heavy. Position "0" provides a clear power-off setting.
Advantages: Its multi-contact combination capability adapts to welding machine transformer tap switching or electronic control board signal selection; the copper strip design with inserts perfectly solves the pain points of complex internal control harnesses and numerous wiring points in welding machines.
General Industrial Equipment Parameter Selection
Multi-speed Motor Control: Provides six preset speed selection signals for small frequency converters or DC speed controllers.
Heating Equipment Power Adjustment: Serves as a six-level power adjustment switch for equipment such as ovens and heating plates.
Test Equipment Function Selection: Used in equipment to switch between different test programs, ranges, or signal sources.
